Company Information
and History
Anderson,
Randles & Associates is a consulting company
specializing in newspaper circulation marketing and
distribution, readership acquisition, reader retention,
and management training and development.
The company was formed and
incorporated in 1997, when founding partners Ron
Anderson and Rich Randles merged their private
circulation consulting firms into Anderson, Randles &
Associates. Anderson and Randles were recognized as
two of the most respected and trusted circulation
experts in the country.
As the business grew, Don
Michel joined the company as a consultant in 1999 and
Phil Hanna in 2001, with both becoming partners in the
firm.
Ron Anderson retired from
the company in 2002. Rich Randles was its president
before retiring due to health reasons in 2004.
Sadly, Rich Randles passed
away at the age of 52 after a long bout with cancer on
November 10, 2004. He was recognized as one of the
brightest and most innovative circulation professionals
in the business. His extraordinary knowledge,
enthusiasm and love of the newspaper business made him a
true leader in the industry.
Prior to his death,
Randles expressed his strong desire that that the
business that he loved and that he worked so hard to
build would carry on and would continue to grow.
Don Michel was elected as
the president of Anderson, Randles & Associates
after Randles’ retirement in 2004 and Phil Hanna was
elected as Vice-President.
Michel and Hanna each have
in excess of 30 years of circulation experience. Michel
works out of his office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Hanna
out of Newnan, Georgia.
Anderson, Randles &
Associates has provided services to more than 200
newspapers since incorporating in September 1997. A
partial list of clients is available through another
